Day Three

I'm up early on day number three. I had trouble falling back to sleep around 4 am yesterday also, but today this awake time has been more productive. I called the nurse to get help sitting up so I could pump (I was feeling really full and hoped pumping would help me be able to fall back to sleep). In came my PCA and nurse, both male this time (ha ha of course it would work out that way) and asked if I was ready to have my cath taken out, so we took care of that and I used my walker to get to the bathroom. Have I mentioned that it feels great to walk! My PCA just watched as I got back to bed (I didn't need help, just me and my walker!), then I sat on the side of the bed to use my breast pump. It has been great having a private room and everyone has given me privacy when I need to pump, which is especially appreciated since I have to lift my night gown all the way up to do so. I'm going to try to get more sleep now because it is sure to be a busy day!
